If I may offer some constructive criticism, you guys have a lot of work to do.
1. You should have more than two hosts. It’s much more interesting listening to a group of guys rather than two guys. This puts less pressure on each of the hosts to “say something, anything” and exposes the listeners to more opinions.
2. Try not to repeat yourselves. That’s a quick turn-off to listeners because when we hear that we start thinking of “better stuff to do”.
3. Bring unique opinions and/or experiences to the table. For example, your unique experience with AoC was good.
4. Phil needs to voice his opinion more in relation to Kevin’s opinions. “Uh huh’s” and “Yeah’s” get old. If Phil agrees, explain why he agrees or expand on Kevin’s opinions.
5. Focus on what you guys are best at. The Indiana Jones review wasn’t that deep but the AoC review was. It was obvious that Kevin has a lot of MMO experience.
6. Encourage feedback/participation from your listeners. Give us a reason to write in to you guys. This is how you’ll get a community started. Possibly get a forum started.
7. I couldn’t get through the pilot episode because of the poor audio quality. It was much better in the second episode but still needs some work. I’m no audio expert but you may need to use some sort of compressor to make your voices fuller sounding.
8. Again, since I didn’t listen to the pilot episode, forgive me if you already did this, but I think you should give some background on what you guys are all about. What are your hobbies, what kind of video game systems do you have (consoles, PCs?), what kind of games are you into, what kind of movies are you into, that kind of stuff.
BTW, I’m an old friend of Kevin’s brother, Chris. He may remember me by the time when he shot me in the head with a dart gun when I was walking into the back yard, or when he helped Chris and I grind some levels in FF7.
P.S. I’d consider joining you guys as a podcast if you were interested. We’d have to set something up via Ventrilo since I live in TX.
Cheers,
